Valentine's Day!  One of the biggest flower holidays, and  florists everywhere are busy busy busy answering phones, ordering last minute flowers (more  pink roses, please!), and putting together beautiful bouquets that will light up a sweetheart's face.

So many beautiful flowers from all over the world. .  .  The supply of flowers has been tight lately because of weather conditions in California and South America, but we're sooo pleased with the quality of these flower shipments.  They're gorgeous!

It's not too late to order.  And be sure to include some of those great Pease's chocolates too :) We'll be open Saturday 9-4 and Sunday 10-2.  Stop by or give us a call!

Another great bridal show this past weekend!  Petals & Co partnered with Willow & Birch, a beautiful new Aveda Concept salon on Springfield's west side to feature floral finery and signature salon services for area brides.

Bouquet featuring pink anthurium, rolled aspidistra leaves, hydrangeas, and purple runuculus.

Charlotte red roses with green dendro orchids.

White & green hydrangea, lily grass, spray roses, topped with a cymbidium orchid.

Pink gerbs pinned with athos, carnation Trix & swirls of lily grass.

Bridal Show January 2011

Petals & Co went to the Crowne Plaza last weekend for the 2010 Bridal Show.  Here's a shot of the booth just before the show opened.  So exciting  to see Michelle's pencil sketch come to life in vibrant living color.  We had a great time chatting with lots of brides. 

 Peonies in January!  Thanks to the flower industry, it's possible to have heavenly-smelling gorgeous fluffy peonies even in winter.  These bouquets and centers were made with white & pink peonies, hydrangeas,  ranuncula,  and tulips.  Spheres on the main table were pinned with white mums and bright green athos.  And check out those garlands of dendrobium orchids!

These small wired bouquets are a Petals & Co. specialty.  This one is topped with three cymbidium orchids and beads and is perfect for mothers or bridesmaids.   Cymbidiums are a great choice for bridal flowers--great colors, long-lasting, reasonably priced.

First Annual Old Town Fall Festival

Please join us Saturday October 2nd, 8 am - 5 pm and October 3rd 9 am - 4 pm for our first annual Old Town Fall Festival.  Proceeds from the festival go to  benefit Danielle Loftus who was injured in a jet-skiing accident this summer.  Here's a quick preview of the weekend:

More than 30 vendors, including Family Kettle Corn, Fat Boys BBQ, Peggy's Place mini donuts!  Wildfire Wings and Things, along with several artisians and crafters from throughout the state.  Also joining us are the  Rochester Lions Club, Boy Scouts and Razzo's. 

ABC of hair will be hosting a cut-a thon on Sunday Oct 3.  Haircuts will be free and  donations can be made to the benefit.

 Many Illinois merchants have generously donated several items for the silent auction and raffle. Wait til you see the gift cards--from shooting range passes to massages.  Something for everyone :)
