Tangerine Tango

As promised, a few more pictures from our Illinois State Florists' Association spring conference.  This beautiful table tied for first place in the tabletop competition and took the people's choice award.  Designed by Micheal Steakley of Hofmann Florist, Chicago. 

 

Tangerine Tango is Pantone's color of the year for 2012.  It's a great red-orange, vibrant and full of energy.  We'll see a lot of it this year in everything from flowers to clothing to home decor. 

 

Easy to see why this one took people's choice. From across the room, the color positively lit up the room.  And with a closer look, great details too.     We're looking forward to working with Tangerine Tango for prom and weddings and yes, even everyday flowers this year.

Illinois State Florists' Convention Spring 2012

Michelle and  her fellow florists have worked  all year to bring the annual spring show to Springfield and now it's here!  

Maria Buskirk, Designer of the Year for 2011, showed us lots of new wedding ideas.

Our vendors are showing us the best of the best of flowers from all over the world.   These tulips are the size of peonies!

 And yesterday's highlight was a hands-on class with Hitomi!
